Individuals who have ingested forever chemicals sometimes labeled as PFAS, PFOS, PFOA, and AFFF have an increased risk of developing pancreatic cancer. You may have been exposed to these chemicals without your knowledge.  If you or a loved one have been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, use the form to start your free consultation.

WHAT ARE PFAS?

Aqueous Film Forming Foam, or AFFF, was once the gold standard for fighting fires and combating jet fuel spills. Now, its fifty-year reign is crumbling as the horrific health effects of the chemicals contained in the foam are becoming increasingly apparent. AFFF contains perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) and perfluorooctane sulfonate (PFOS). Collectively known as PFAS, these synthetic chemicals have been linked to increased rates of cancer, developmental delays, compromised immune systems, and other negative health outcomes.

HOW YOU COULD BE EXPOSED TO PFAS....

Exposures to PFAS chemicals may include:

  • Industrial spills and releases. PFAS are used in a variety of industrial processes. Spills and releases can contaminate soil and water.
  • Firefighting foam. PFAS are used in firefighting foam, and spills and runoff from training exercises can contaminate water supplies.
  • Wastewater treatment plants. PFAS can be released into wastewater from industrial and commercial facilities, and they can pass through wastewater treatment plants and into drinking water supplies.
  • Landfills and dumps. PFAS can be released from landfills and dumps, and they can contaminate groundwater that is used for drinking water.
  • Agricultural runoff. PFAS can be used in some agricultural products, and they can run off into water supplies.

It is important to speak with an experienced attorney as soon as possible to discuss your legal options. An attorney can help you determine whether you have a claim and can represent you in negotiations with the insurance company or other responsible parties.

The attorneys at The Driscoll Firm have extensive experience representing victims of chemical exposure. We are committed to helping you get the compensation you deserve.

PFAS and Your Health

PFAS, or per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances, are a group of man-made chemicals that have been used in a variety of products for decades. They are known to be persistent in the environment and can build up in human bodies over time.

The full extent of the health impacts of PFAS exposure is not yet fully understood, but there is mounting evidence that they can cause a range of health problems, including:

  • Kidney disease and kidney cancer
  • Prostate and testicular cancer
  • Pancreatic cancer
  • Developmental effects and delays, such as behavioral changes, low birth weight, accelerated puberty, and bone variations
  • Lowered immune response to infections and vaccines
  • Increased cholesterol and/or risk of obesity
  • Decreased fertility
  • In pregnant women, increased risk of high blood pressure and pre-eclampsia

We understand that this is a difficult time for you, and we are here to help you through it. We will fight for your rights and make sure that you are treated fairly. Contact us today to schedule a free consultation.
